Day 175, August 12th

We got some Rattlers' tickers donated to JDRF so I gave them out to some of our family teams, and Ryan and I headed out to spend the evening with them!
This wasn't any old Rattlers game, it was the Arena Bowl!!!!!! I had never been to a Rattlers game before, but I've wanted to go forever, so this was quite a treat!
Okay, so these games are so freaking fun!!! Ryan and I really are considering getting season tickets for next year, since they aren't too expensive and the games are oh so fun!
The sad news, we lost the Arena Bowl! :( but we lost in only the last 2 seconds of the game! So intense! I've never been so into football in my life!
We headed home and had a dance party at the house trying to move past our sadness of the loss.  It's okay Rattlers, we'll get em next year!

Day 174, August 11th

Thursday, Ryan had a baseball game, so I did some blogging trying to catch up for all of you, my loyal fans! :)  After I felt like I could blog no more, I put in Going the Distance, since we had it, and Ryan doesn't want to watch anything with Drew Barrymore, which I think may have been nice to know before I rented it, but anywho I watched it while he was out playing ball.
Okay movie, I can see where he was coming from I suppose.  He came home, had his ritual post game burrito, and then that was the end of our evening.

Day 173, August 10th

I had a meeting after work on Wednesday so was there a bit later than usual Then after work, I headed over to Amy's to catch up with the girls as it has been far too long since we've gotten together!
Amy and I both have our fur kids who we treat as our real children, but I grew very envious of her when I saw her son Fitch, hug and cuddle her! Hello, Gus and Max don't do that!! My heart was oh so sad!! It was a nice night catching up with what everyone was up to.  I didn't get home until quite late.  Basically I came home, caught Ryan up on the information I thought he may care about, and then we headed off to bed.  I tried to get Gus to hug me before bed, but that sure as heck didn't happen!

Day 172, August 9th

Tuesday  we got back to our relatively boring life.  We hit the gym after work, and then cooked up our go to pasta dish, and enjoyed a glass of wine and some not so exciting summer television.
I can't say we did much more than this, but I think having boring nights every here and there is a nice treat.

Day 171, August 8th

So my mom's birthday was like two weeks ago, but she was busy traveling around America so we only just now got to celebrate.
We all met at Switch for a scrumptious dinner and wine.  My sister had just gotten back from Newport, my mom and Rick got back from Florida, and well Ryan and I had our wild trip to Prescott, so we all caught up on our travels.
The birthday dessert was delicious, and the whole evening was top notch!!
Happy birthday mom...finally.

Day 170, August 7th

Sunday morning, the dudes headed off to play baseball, which left me stranded at the hotel.  This was not the original plan, Ryan was supposed to drive with some of the other guys so that I would have a car to head to the game later in the morning. But some unforeseen circumstance that happened after we left the bar the prior evening forced Ryan to need to drive to the game, leaving me stuck.  I got ready, cleaned the room and checked out of the hotel, and then basically broke the law and hung out in the room until Ryan came back! We all grabbed some lunch and then I drove the winning team home to Phoenix.
Once we got home, we headed up to Rachel and Eric's house to see little baby Asher.   The little guy slept the entire time I was there, which makes me think baby's aren't really that tough... :) I was so caught up in worrying about holding, and not dropping Asher, that I totally didn't take a picture! We had a nice time hanging out, hearing the reality of parenthood, and seeing my old friend be a mom!!
After we left their house, we headed to Pita Jungle to have dinner with Alex and Heather.  Must have been Baby Sunday, because these crazy kids are expecting a baby!!! We had a fun night, a delicious meal, and then headed to Mojo and pretty much planned out the future G baby's entire life! A very exciting end to a fun weekend!

Day 169, August 6th

Saturday morning, two of Ryan's teammates came to our casa to drive up north with us.  The four of us piled into our car and made the trip.  We got to the ballpark an hour or so before the game started, so the boys went to warm up, and I headed to buy some brewskies for the boys, to celebrate a win, or to drown our sorrows over a loss. I spent a majority of the game reading this month's Book Club selection, A Stolen Life.  I thought the other women around me would be weirded out by my often out loud gasps, but luckily another woman had read it too, so we had a nice discussion about it.
The Twins won, so we were able to celebrate.  Ryan hit a triple, which was lovely, and all in all it was a good afternoon in Prescott.
After the game we headed to the hotel, got ready, and separated from the hoard of men to go to Jerome for dinner.  I had never been to Jerome, so I was excited to go! We walked around the shops, enjoying a glass of wine and almost every store, and then had dinner at The Haunted Hamburger, then started to get nervous about the hauntedness of Jerome, so headed back to Prescott! We met up with the rest of the team on Whiskey Row,they were a little further along in the drinking area then we were, and we hung out for the rest of the night with the group.  It was a fun day, away from the intense heat of Phoenix!

Day 168, August 5th

Friday after work, we came home, ate some dinner, lounged a bit, and then started packing for our Prescott trip in the morning.  Ryan's baseball team goes up north one weekend each summer to get out of the heat, and that weekend was upon us.
We packed up the car with baseball stuff, and our bags with clothing, and then hit the hay!
Not a too exciting evening, but preparing for a more exciting weekend!!

Day 167, August 4th

Thursday after work, Mike and Mary came over so we could reinstate Game Night.  At Southern Springs, game night is a given each week, like I mentioned here.
We made up some sliders and M2 brought the beverages, and we dove into the games.  We played Cranium, boys vs girls, and some how the boys won...I'm sure they cheated.  Then we played Taboo and Mary and I pulled out that victory.
We had a fun night playing games, hanging with our friends, and drinking some delicious concoction Mary brought back with her from Wisconsin.
Looking forward to our next Game Night!!

Day 166, August 3rd

Wednesday started our two day Staff Retreat.  We didn't go anywhere...that's what people always ask when I say we're doing a retreat, "Oh where did you go"
"Our conference room..."
After a day of talking about Walk and other exciting stuff I'm sure my readers would love to hear about, we headed to a staff dinner.  Thinking we would just eat dinner together, enjoy each other's company, we were soon told that would not be the case!! We broke into three groups, and we each had a handicap...the first team had to tie one hand behind their back, second group couldn't talk to anyone, and the third group, my awesome group, started 15 minutes later than everyone else.
So basically we were given a stack of items and told to make an appetizer  side dish and main dish, we had to use all our ingredients, and we had about an hour.
It wasn't easy, but our team made tostada for the appetizers, salad for the side dish, and spaghetti and meatballs for the main dish.  Of course we won, I mean obviously!! :)  There were some other good dishes, and then some not so great things, like the
sauerkraut bruschetta, but it was a fun night with my co workers!
After the dinner, I headed home, Sam was gone and the house was spotless, lovely husband I have, and I ate dinner agian...our work dinner wasn't the most filling!!

Day 165, August 2nd

Tuesday, Ryan had a baseball game so I headed to Fleetwest to finally catch up on the account reconciliation, much to Rick's happiness.  Rick was still there so he asked if I wanted to have dinner with him and my mom.  Since my plan was to sit at home and eat alone, I decided I'd love to join them for dinner!
We went to Aunt Chilada's, talked about their wedding, and when it will ever happen, and I caught up on their trip to Florida they just came back from.
I went home and loved on Sam, because Tommy was coming home tomorrow, but I would be at work late, so it was our last night together.

Day 164, August 1st

Monday was back to work for us after a few days of relaxing.  After work on Monday, Ryan hit the town with some of his friends so it was just me and the fur kids at home.  We still had Sam for a few more days, so I got home from work, went to Piyo, then just came home and relaxed.  Caught up on girl shows I don't watch when Ryan is home, and played with Sam.
Pretty uneventful night for me.  I am sure Ryan had a grand time, but he didn't take any photos of his night out!

Day 163, July 31st

Sunday was full of birthday celebrations.  Ryan had a baseball game in the morning, so I headed up to Anthem for Sofia's 10th birthday celebration.  She had a tea party to celebrate her first decade, which was quite lovely.  Ryan came up later,  and we had tea, cake, and a fun afternoon.  After we left there we went home, and then got ready to head to Chili's for dinner.  Not because we wanted to go to Chili's but because today would have been Stephanie's 27th birthday.  Steph was just as in love with her birthday as I am, so I had to celebrate for her. For some strange reason, Steph loved Chili's.  Before she left for Africa, she no longer had a car, so I spent a day helping her finish some stuff up before she moved.  She begged me to go to Chili's, and although I thought what a strange place to want to go, we did.
So to help celebrate my best friend, Ryan suggested we go to in honor of Stephanie, even though, we would have preferred a better dinner destination!
We spent dinner talking about Stephanie, about her past birthday celebrations, and other random Steph-esque stories.  It was a good day, and I was happy to remember my friend on her birthday.

Day 162, July 30th

Saturday, sadness set in that vacation was officially coming to an end.  We woke up, made a delicious breakfast and headed to the gym...to work off our gluttonous Friday.  We pretty much didn't do a whole lot with our Saturday. In the evening we got ready and headed downtown with my sister for dinner and the Peacemakers show at The Foundry on First.  We went to dinner at Cooperstown then headed into the show.  Dan Majerle walked with us over to the concert so that was a nice treat... :)   So the Foundry is a new establishment, and has quite the potential, but really probably should have had a few smaller gigs before the had a sold out show in there.  They didn't have enough people working the bar, and their air conditioner was broken...in July...in Phoenix.  there were 1000 people in this tiny place, you can't imagine how hot it was.  Despite all this, the concert was total amaze balls.  A fun night, and a top notice performance by Roger.

Day 161, July 29th

So, if you read this blog, you know Ryan and I frequent Aunt Chilada's on the regular.  You can imagine my excitement when there was a Living Social coupon for our favorite neighborhood Mexican joint.  We spent the morning with Sam, and then hit the road, went and got our ridiculous amounts of food. After seriously eating our weight in food, we bid ado and headed to the movies!
I'm pretty sure Ryan and I have seen 3 movies in the theater together during our courtship so going today was quite a treat.  We saw Crazy Stupid Love, which was cute.
Headed home to our three fur boys and spent the evening chilaxin.

Day 160, July 28th

Thursday morning, Ryan woke up early to take Tommy to the airport, for his solo trip to Hawaii, and to pick up our house guest for the weekend, SAM! Sam, Tommy's dog, lived with Ryan...and Tommy, before we got married and I took over the pad, and Sam and I really hit it off, he pretty much loves me more than anyone.  When Tommy asked if we'd watch him for the week, he knew the answer would be yes.

Once Ryan arrived home with my fur best friend, he said hello to his good friends Max and Gus, and then we packed Sam in the car, and the 3 of us headed on to the Apache Trail, for a lovely little day trip seeing our great state.  We went to some old town that I don't remember the name of, and then headed to Canyon Lake and played in the water with Sam.  Little did we know he had never swam before, and Tommy was sad he missed his son's first strokes.
We had lunch, then headed back home, stopped at this other cute little town with an old time Wells Fargo bank and wagon, so I made Ryan take a picture with it.
It was a fun little afternoon seeing parts of Arizona that I hadn't seen before! We had Streets of New York for dinner, vacation food, and watched Robin Hood, which was actually very good.  Long and exciting day in the house of us!

Day 159, July 27th

So, lately Ryan and I have been on sort of the edge in regards to our work life.  Since we went on our honeymoon, we never did a summer vacation, so we made the grand decision to take 3 random days off in the summer, just to hang!!

Today was the first day! We woke up later than usual, went to the gym, and then cleaned the house a bit.  I know, so exciting, but life calls.  Then we headed to the store to grab some food for the week, it is Wednesday you know, coupons!!!
I had book club for the evening, which worked perfect since Ryan was asked to pitch for another team for the night.  Well, he didn't pitch, but we already had a group of gals headed to our place, so he grabbed his clubs and headed to the golf course to brush up on his skills.
It was a small group for book club, but we talked late into the night since it was the last time we'd see Michelle before she headed off to the big city.  Ryan came home and went to bed all while we chatted it up in the living room.  When we decided the night should come to a close, the ladies left, and I headed to bed.
A nice little day off with Ryan and friends.

Day 158, July 26th

So, a few months back, I finally realized the wonderfulness that is Amazon.  I now won't buy anything before I check out Amazon first!!
Then last week, after trying to sell my book back from last semester to no avail, I thought...hmm I wonder if I can sell it on Amazon?! And so I put it up there, and sold it in 2 days!! So exciting!! I decided to go through my old textbooks and Ryan's textbooks to see what else I could sell!!
While Ryan was on the mound, I went through our house and found things to sell that I didn't think Ryan would notice was gone!! :) After I posted everything,  I sat back and watched the money roll in! haha, but seriously, I've made like $100 in the last month! So dope, I know.  Only problem is that now I'm out of stuff to sell!
