Happy birthday, Ryan!!!!!
It's Ryan's first birthday as a married man so I had to show how awesome birthdays would be from here on out!! When we woke up, the children gave Ryan his gift, a shirt, Gus of course wanted all the credit for the gift, but Max helped pick it out as well. I made breakfast and then we pretty much just spent the day lounging around. Max and Gus both showed love to Ryan, which I was slightly jealous of, but also glad to see my boys all together.
After lunch, I made some cupcakes, and let Ryan open his birthday present. Over the summer we went to the All Star game, and saw this giant book that had everything you ever wanted to know about baseball inside!! I was going to get it for Ryan for Christmas, but then we bought the tv and limited Christmas, so bam, he got it for his birthday! I think he was genuinely surprised by the gift, which is always may goal!! He read through the book, ate some cupcakes and got wrapped up in a TI and Tiny marathon on VH1...
For dinner, we pulled ourselves away from The Family Hustle, and headed to North, one of our favorite Fox Restaurants. After our delicious meal, we had the idea to head over to Oregano's for dessert. This smart idea quickly turned into the worst idea ever...When we arrived, we were seated and I ran to the restroom and by the time I came back, Ryan had ordered our half chocolate chip half white macadamia nut pizza cookie. After 30 minutes, I asked our waiter where the heck our cookie was, to which he dumbly responded it was coming...well needless to say another 10 minutes later we finally got our cookie...yes, almost an hour of sitting there!! I touched my spoon to the cookie and it was RAW! Ugh, so we told the manager, who told me they'd make us a new one but wanted me to know that that's how they are usually served. She messed with the wrong gal and I snapped at her and told her I have ordered them several times and that was NOT the way they were served. What a hassle, and a terrible way to end Ryan's birthday!! 10 minutes later, a cooked pizza cookie came out, weird since it took the raw one 40 minutes to cook, we ate the deliciousness and then we walked out the door, never to look back. I suppose the free dessert was nice, but not worth the trouble, since we probably could have got a free dessert anywhere for Ryan's birthday!! Not cool Oregano's...
